Michael Cowley

Michael Cowley is a Senior Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology since July 2019 and an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Southern Queensland since 2018. Previous roles include Scientific Advisor at Light Harmony until April 2021, Research Officer at Macquarie University from 2014 to 2018, and Research Assistant at Queensland University of Technology from 2011 to 2013. Michael's career began at Suncorp, where responsibilities included Broker Manager, Product Manager, and Credit Analyst from 2003 to 2011. Additional experience includes a Finance Broker position at Business Finance & Leasing and a Business Development Manager role at Electronic Banking Solutions. Michael also served as Area Sales Manager at Target Australia Pty Ltd from 1997 to 2001. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Astrophysics from Macquarie University, a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons) in Astrophysics from Queensland University of Technology, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Astrophysics from the same institution. A Certificate of Management Skills was obtained from South West Institute of TAFE in 2000.
