Marissa Matsler

Marissa Matsler is a seasoned social scientist currently working at the US Environmental Protection Agency since February 2021, following an ORISE Postdoctoral Fellowship. Prior experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Maryland from January 2020 to February 2021 and at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies from July 2017 to June 2020. Marissa also engaged in educational efforts as the Head Educator and live-aboard crew at SoundWaters, instructing thousands of students. Early in the career, Marissa held positions as an onshore intern at PISCO and an Oregon Sea Grant Undergraduate Fellow at Oregon State University. Marissa's academic credentials include a PhD in Urban Studies from Portland State University, a Master's in Environmental Management from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, a Sustainable Design Certificate from Ecosa Institute, and a Bachelor's in Marine Biology from Oregon State University.
