Nitya Rao

Nitya Rao has a diverse work experience across various companies and roles. They started their career as a CRISPR Research Intern at the University of California, San Diego - School of Medicine in 2011. After that, they worked as a Research Ethics Marketing & Digital Intern at the same institution from 2013 to 2014. From 2016 to 2018, Nitya worked as a Climbing Coach, Belay Instructor, and Yoga Teacher at Planet Granite Sunnyvale, where they also participated in staff meetings to improve customer experiences. In 2018, they joined Tradecraft as a Product Designer, collaborating with early-stage startups on designing digital products. Nitya also worked as a UX & Interaction Designer (Contract) at Prime Trust in 2018, where they conducted user research and designed internal tools and onboarding products. They co-founded Accomplice.Design in 2019 and worked as a Co-Founder & Designer until 2021, collaborating with startup clients on various design projects. Most recently, Nitya Rao joined Valora in 2021 as a Senior Product Designer.

Nitya Rao started their education in 2010 at UC San Diego, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physiology and Neuroscience, with a minor in Philosophy in 2014. In 2015, they received a certification as a 200 hr Multi-style (Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow) Yoga Instructor from Yoga Alliance. Following this, from 2015 to 2016, they attended A.T. Still University of Health Sciences to study Osteopathic Medicine/Osteopathy, although no specific degree was mentioned.
