Jason Pello, Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for the Nerdy’s FP&A, Accounting, and Treasury functions. He has 18 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting. Prior to joining Nerdy, Jason served as Vice President - Corporate FP&A at SAVE-A-LOT, a $4 billion revenue grocery chain owned by private equity. Prior to that role, Jason served as Vice President - Internal Audit and Interim Vice President FP&A at Caleres (formerly Brown Shoe Company), a $3B publicly traded shoe retailer. Jason joined Caleres after spending 5 years at Peabody Energy, the world's largest private-sector coal company (Fortune 500) with over $5 billion in annual revenue. At Peabody, Jason worked in Vice President Internal Audit and Director Compliance and Accounting Policy roles. He started his career at PwC and spent 8 years in the firm’s Assurance practice serving a variety of public and private companies. Jason received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri and is a registered CPA in the state of Missouri (non-active). Jason lives in St. Louis with his wife and two children.
