Sports management agency VaynerSports has expanded its operations into baseball, joining with the GEM Agency effective immediately. Previously a football-only agency, VaynerSports will create a subsidiary, VaynerBaseball, to be headed by GEM founder and veteran MLB agent, and now Vayner Sports Co-CEO Greg Genske.
"Today is a marquee moment in the world of athlete representation as we expand our offering into the world of baseball. When you add someone with the negotiation-savvy of Greg to the disruption my brother AJ and I bring, along with Mike Neligan's success marketing high-profile athletes, you create an absolute force to be reckoned with," said VaynerSports Chair Gary Vaynerchuk.
Mr. Genske is one of the more prominent baseball agents of recent years, and will serve as VaynerBaseball’s CEO and company Co-CEO. "I'm excited to be joining forces with Gary and the VaynerSports Team," he said. "Gary's visionary branding and marketing expertise will allow the concept behind the creation of GEM to flourish and provide our clients with access to a portfolio of services unmatched in the player representation industry."
Among those joining Mr. Genske at VaynerBaseball are COO Joe Mizzo and agents Eric Izen, Alex Hicks, former All-Star Vernon Wells, and others.
NFL agent AJ Vaynerchuk now serve as Co-CEO of VaynerSports, with a focus on the VaynerFootball division. VaynerSports will now have agents and offices in New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
