Charles Keates

Charles is the firm’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. He is integrally involved in negotiations with outside managers and hedge funds, the organization and operation of Veritable’s many collective investment structures and the design and execution of the firm’s client portfolio review and compliance processes. He is also a vocal member of Veritable’s Operating Committee and an essential member of its Executive Committee.

A native of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Charles graduated with a BA from La Salle University, earned his JD from Seton Hall University and a Masters of Governmental Administration from the Fels Institute of Government of the University of Pennsylvania. He was admitted to the Bars of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. Prior to attending Fels, Charles was an assistant county counsel in the Atlantic County (New Jersey) Department of Law. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Library Company of Philadelphia, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks, and an Ex Officio member of the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania Ballet.
