They have two reportable segments that they operate and manage as strategic business units - Verizon Consumer Group (Consumer) and Verizon Business Group (Business). The Consumer segment provides consumer-focused wireless and wireline communications services and products. Their wireless services are provided across one of the most extensive wireless networks in the United States (U.S.) under the Verizon brand and through wholesale and other arrangements. They also provide fixed wireless access (FWA) broadband through their wireless networks. Their wireline services are provided in nine states in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern U.S., as well as Washington D.C., over a 100% fiber-optic network through their Verizon Fios product portfolio and over a traditional copper-based network to customers who are not served by Fios. In 2021, the Consumer segment’s revenues were $95.3 billion, representing approximately 71% of Verizon’s consolidated revenues.

Their Business segment provides wireless and wireline communications services and products, including data, video and conferencing services, corporate networking solutions, security and managed network services, local and long distance voice services and network access to deliver various Internet of Things (IoT) services and products. They also provide FWA broadband through our wireless networks. Verizon provides these products and services to businesses, government customers and wireless and wireline carriers across the U.S. and select products and services to customers around the world. In 2021, the Business segment's revenues were $31.0 billion, representing approximately 23% of Verizon’s consolidated revenues.

The current leadership team at Verizon has a history of experience in many different industries. The team members have worked as a president of the Swedish Olympic Committee, a board member of the United Nations Foundation, and the president and CEO of Ericsson. Additionally, the team has experience as the chief financial officer of Ericsson and a board advisor at Acorns. The current vice president of consumer financial services at PayPal and the senior vice president, chief product officer, and operational excellence at American Express are also on the leadership team. Furthermore, the team includes a manager of corporate affairs at American Express and a law clerk to Judge William A. Norris of the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit. The leadership team is rounded out with an associate from Williams & Connolly LLP. Although not all members have the same education, the team collectively holds degrees from Queensland University of Technology, Stanford Law School, and the University of Pennsylvania.
