Aerospace and defense company Vertex Aerospace has hired Leon Bacon as its new vice president of Business Development for its US Navy programs. Mr. Bacon will be based at the company’s Pax River office, and will lead its customer liaison and naval aviation contracts.
"Regarded as an expert in the total cradle to grave lifecycle support of major aviation weapon systems, Leon will be a true asset for Vertex," said Vertex CEO and president Ed Boyington. "He is uniquely capable and strategically positioned to oversee Vertex's naval aviation portfolio and we look forward to the new business opportunities he'll manage from our Pax River site."
Mr. Bacon has more than 30 years of experience in naval aviation and acquisition, most recently as Senior Director of Marketing, NAVAIR Programs at Elbit Systems of America. He is also a 13-year US Navy veteran.
