Khayam Javed

Khayam Javed, Ph.D., is a highly skilled scientist with extensive experience in stem cell research and biotechnology. Currently serving as a Reviewer at MDPI and a Stem Cell Research Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Khayam focuses on personalizing cell-based therapies for Type 1 Diabetes. As the Founder and President of CamGenetix, a biotechnology company in its early phases, Khayam aims to advance automation and scalability in next-generation therapies. Previous roles include a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, where collaborative efforts centered on mitigating allogenic rejection risks in stem cell applications. Khayam holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Biology and Embryology from the University of Cambridge, complemented by an MPhil in Cellular and Molecular Biology and an MSc in Biotechnology from the University of the Punjab.
