Brian Chemel

Brian Chemel is the current head of engineering at Verve Motion. Prior to this, Brian served as the CTO of Till Financial from September 2019 to November 2021. At Till, Brian was responsible for leading product and technology development as well as overseeing the company's backend, which included an internal account ledger, message-based engine for task processing, webhook handlers, and third-party integrations. The Till stack was built on golang, React Native, serverless Lambdas, postgres, and SQS.

Before Till, Brian served as the founder and CTO of Digital Lumens from April 2008 to September 2019. During their time at Digital Lumens, Brian led the development of the company's line of intelligent LED lighting systems and was responsible for growing the engineering team from 3 to 35 people. Brian also directed control product development at Color Kinetics (now Philips Solid-State Lighting Solutions) from June 2000 to March 2008.

Brian's experience in product and software development has made him a valuable asset to Verve Motion. Under their leadership, Verve Motion has released several innovative products that have helped the company become a leader in the motion control industry.

Brian Chemel holds a Masters in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Math/Computer Science from the same school.

Brian Chemel reports to Ignacio Galiana, CEO. They work with Bryan Boutwell - Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations, Nathalie Degenhardt - Co-Founder & Head of Functional Apparel, and Mike Sofer - Head of Business Development.
