Ken Miller

VP for Finance at Virginia Tech

Kenneth E. Miller has served Virginia Tech in the Controller’s Office since 1988. Mr. Miller served in progressively responsible financial management positions until his promotion to University Controller in 2001, and subsequent promotion to Assistant Vice President for Finance & University Controller in 2011. In this role, Mr. Miller is responsible for the financial management and accounting operations of the university including accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, cash receipts, the general ledger accounting system, financial reporting, fixed assets, cost accounting, and insurance programs. In addition, Mr. Miller is responsible for the establishment and monitoring of internal accounting controls for the university to ensure the effective and efficient use of university financial resources and that such resources are properly safeguarded.

Mr. Miller received a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Prior to working at Virginia Tech, Mr. Miller worked as a staff auditor for a national public accounting firm for several years and as a financial manager for the American Heart Association for five years.
