Richard Mooney

Richard Mooney has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Richard currently holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer at One New Zealand since April 2023. Before that, they served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Vodafone New Zealand starting from July 2020. Prior to that, Richard worked at Liberty Global as the Managing Director of Strategy from December 2019 to July 2020 and as the Vice President of Strategy from May 2016 to December 2019. Richard also held positions at Vodafone UK as the Head of Strategy from August 2014 to May 2016 and as the Group Strategy Executive from October 2012 to July 2014. Richard additionally worked at Cable & Wireless as the Head of Strategy from July 2011 to November 2012, at GSM Association as the Director of Strategy from July 2010 to July 2011, and at Spectrum Value Partners as the Senior Engagement Manager from June 2007 to June 2010. Richard started their career at Spectrum Strategy Consultants, where they worked as an Analyst and progressed to Manager from August 2000 to August 2007.

Richard Mooney attended the University of Bristol from 1995 to 2000 and earned a 1st Class MSci degree in Chemistry.
