Brandon Barnett

Brandon Barnett is an experienced information technology and GIS professional, currently serving as the Information Technology Section Manager for Volusia County Government since June 2021, leading teams in Enterprise GIS and Enterprise LIS / Permitting. As the owner of BeeMAPS LLC since April 2017, Brandon specializes in Cartographic Mapping, Enterprise Implementation, and WebGIS solutions, while also providing data analytics and processing using Python. Previously, Brandon held positions as GIS Administrator and GIS Analyst for Lake County Board of County Commissioners from October 2013 to June 2021, contributing to the development of online applications and standardization of GIS databases. Brandon's earlier roles include a Technician at Aptronics and a Lead Wildlife Technician at Florida Fish and Wildlife, in addition to experience as an intern in the Planning Division of the City of Orlando. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning using GIS from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Environmental Science from the University of Central Florida.
