Wouter van Overfelt

Wouter Van Overfelt, PhD, serves as Head EM Fixed Income at Vontobel since April 2013, having previously held positions such as Deputy Head EM and Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Market Bonds, where Wouter successfully launched emerging hard currency fixed income funds. Prior to Vontobel, Wouter was a Visiting Professor of Banking at the University of Antwerp from October 2010 to October 2014, focusing on the banking sector's role in the economy post-2008 financial crisis. Previous experience includes roles such as Head of Business Control at GDF SUEZ, Quantitative Credit Risk Modeller and Fund Manager at Dexia, and a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Antwerp, where Wouter received accolades for research and contributed to various academic courses. Wouter holds a PhD in Applied Economics and a degree in Quantitative Economics from the University of Antwerp, supplemented by education at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
