VP, CX Operations at Vroom

Mark Smith is currently the VP of CX Operations at Vroom. Prior to this, they were the Head of North American Manufacturing Operations at WSAudiology from January 2019 to December 2020. Mark was also previously the GM of Operations Standards at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey from January 2018 to December 2019. In their current role, they are responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the company. Mark has also been instrumental in returning the company to its former role and in leading the post-merger business integration. In their previous role at WSAudiology, they were responsible for managing 11 direct and 200+ indirect employees. Mark also oversaw a $12M budget and was able to stabilize manufacturing systems within the newly launched ERP system, completely eliminating backlogs. Mark also developed harmonization and synergies within the newly acquired business / brand. Lastly, they utilized Lean practices, optimizing manufacturing practices by more than 25%. In their role at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, they led 7 direct and 40 indirect employees. Mark also installed Operational Excellence business entity within the organization and developed the backbone and competency for it. Mark delivered several projects that yielded accountable savings and efficiencies. Some of their accomplishments include improving operational efficiency within vendor onboarding process by more than 30% utilizing lean techniques, installing vehicle tracking within the agency which tracks more than 4000 vehicles, and developing a snowplow tracking system that enables timed routes within facilities and improves uptimes by more than 25% for Airports, Bridges, Tunnels and Ports.

Mark Smith has a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from Kean University, a Master of Science in Management and Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Certificate degree in Supply chain Management from Rutgers University–New Brunswick. Mark also has a Certification from Ford Motor Company in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) and Six Sigma Black Belt Certification – Level I.
