Linda Hamersley is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in sports management and operations. Currently serving as the Executive Manager Operations & Capability at the West Australian Football Commission since September 2019, Linda oversees various operational areas to ensure the organization's sustainability. Previous roles include Executive Manager Governance, Strategy & Workforce Planning, Chief Executive Officer at West Perth Football Club and Athletics New Zealand, and Sport Services Manager at the New Zealand Olympic Committee. Linda has demonstrated strong leadership through strategic governance, stakeholder engagement, and developing high-performance cultures within sports organizations. Additionally, Linda holds a position as a voluntary Board Director at the Western Australian Institute of Sport.

WA Football
WA Football is the caretaker of football throughout the State and is responsible for the overall development of the game. Our role includes holding the license of the State’s two AFL teams – the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Football Club, guiding the West Australian Football League (WAFL), overseeing community football, managing umpiring, and driving participation through game development and the talent pathway. WA Football is a not for profit sports association. It is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act and governed by a voluntary Board of Commissioners that oversees the operation of all football activities throughout the State. 2017 was a landmark year for WA Football, completing a once-in-a-generation Structural Review of WA Football and establishing a new Strategic Plan for 2017-2022 following significant research, planning and consultation. The Strategic Plan has been developed to assist in aligning the industry to achieve common goals and a reform agenda consisting of 60 key reform projects. The plan also outlines the new core values of WA Football , setting the tone for how WA Football leads the industry through this significant period of reform.
