Jan Johnston

Jan Johnston is an experienced art educator, currently serving in the Wake County Public School System since August 2014. Previous teaching roles include positions at Virginia Commonwealth University - Qatar from 2008 to 2018, where Jan developed curriculum for various design-related summer programs, and served as Project Manager for the eLASTIC research initiative focused on interdisciplinary connections in the arts. Jan's extensive background also includes positions as a Program Director for study abroad courses, and teaching roles at Franklin County Schools, Broughton High School, and Franklinton High/Cedar Creek Middle School. Jan Johnston holds a Master's degree in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, and two Bachelor’s degrees from North Carolina Central University and North Carolina State University.
