James M. Griffin

Head, Consumer Banking at Webster Bank

James M. Griffin is currently the head of consumer banking at Webster Bank. Prior to this, they were with Sterling National Bank from July 2015 to February 2022, where they were EVP, Head of Consumer & Business Banking. Before that, they were with Astoria Bank from July 2003 to June 2015, where they were First VP, Director of Strategy and Planning for the Retail Banking Group. In this role, they were responsible for Webster’s consumer banking strategy, consumer and small business digital strategy, consumer network, residential lending, business banking and consumer products.

James M. Griffin has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Adelphi University, and a Banking Degree from National School of Banking, ABA with Fairfield University.
