Christopher Beals is the current CEO of Weedmaps. Prior to that, they were the Senior Vice President at Colbeck from December 2014 to August 2015, where they were responsible for deal origination and operating strategy at a PE-style credit fund focused on the technology, SaaS, and healthcare sectors. From April 2010 to February 2013, Beals worked as an Associate at Covington & Burling LLP, where they advised startup and technology companies across a variety of sectors and provided advice on deal structuring for strategic transactions, including acquisitions, licensing, and joint ventures. Christopher has represented companies focused on SaaS, big data systems, online marketplaces, and life sciences. Some of their representative matters include working with AstraZeneca on a technology and data alliance agreement with HealthCore, Inc. for a new medical outcomes data research and analytics system; Microsoft Corp. on intellectual property and acquisition matters in its winning $4.5 billion bid with a consortium of bidders in the auction of Nortel Networks Corporation's 6,000 telecommunications patents and patent applications; and a healthcare system in connection with developing and licensing a SaaS electronic medical records system.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Christopher Beals attended the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where they earned their Juris Doctor.
