Patricia K. Poppe

Patricia K. Poppe was appointed a director of Whirlpool Corporation in December 2019. Poppe is the president and chief executive officer of CMS Energy and its principal subsidiary, Consumers Energy, a position she has held since 2016. She also became a member of the board of directors of CMS Energy and Consumers Energy in 2016. Poppe served as Senior Vice President of Distribution Operations, Engineering and Transmission from 2015 to 2016. She was responsible for engineering, maintenance and operations of the electric and natural gas delivery systems. Prior to that, Poppe served as Vice President of Customer Experience, Rates and Regulation from 2013 to 2015. She joined Consumers Energy in January 2011 as Vice President of Customer Operations. Prior to joining CMS Energy, Ms. Poppe held various positions of increasing responsibility at DTE Energy from 2005 to 2011 and General Motors Company from 1990 to 2005. Poppe serves on executive boards for the Edison Electric Institute, Business Leaders for Michigan, and the American Gas Association. She holds a master’s degree in management from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University.
