Haochuan Zhang

Haochuan Zhang has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field since 2014. In 2014, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Science and Technology of China, where they designed and synthesized SnSe/SnSe2 hybrid nanostructures and investigated their photoelectrochemical properties, as well as developed hierarchical structures of MoS2 nanosheets for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction. In 2015, they completed a Summer Internship at the University of Twente, where they controlled the growth of Pb(ZrxTi1-x)O3 thin films on Ca2Nb3O10- nanosheets seed layer by pulsed laser deposition. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Boston College, where they developed artificial solid-electrolyte interphase model structures via atomic layer deposition for systematic understanding of the unique functions of lithium fluoride on lithium metal anode surface, and identified unique solid-electrolyte interphase formation mechanisms via electrochemically induced chemical reactions and demonstrated safe and stable operation of lithium metal anode in nonflammable electrolyte. In 2022, they began working as a Scientist at Wildcat Discovery Technologies.

Haochuan Zhang graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Material Chemistry. Haochuan then attended Boston College from 2017 to 2022, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry.
