James Higgins serves as the Legal Director for William Grant & Sons since January 2023. Prior to this role, James was a Legal Consultant at Herbalife Nutrition from March 2022 to December 2022 and founded Ignite Brands (Limited), where James held the position of Founder & Director from December 2020 to February 2022. A significant part of James's career includes a lengthy tenure at Diageo, where roles included General Counsel Europe and various regional counsel positions between November 2001 and June 2020. Earlier in James's career, legal experience was gained as a Legal Assistant at Scottish & Newcastle plc and as a Trainee Solicitor at Dundas & Wilson. Academic qualifications include an LLB Hons in Law and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen. Leadership experience was also demonstrated as President of the Aberdeen University Athletics Association.
