Emma Cockerell

Emma Cockerell is an experienced professional in children's services, currently serving as the Director of Children’s Services at Wokingham Borough Council since April 2024. Prior to this role, Emma held various positions at the London Borough of Newham, including Director of Operations and Safeguarding and Acting Director of Operations and Safeguarding from April 2020 to April 2024, as well as Assistant Director of Quality Assurance. Emma's earlier experience includes serving as Head of Commissioning Quality and Practice at the London Borough of Sutton from August 2018 to April 2020. Emma holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Sussex, completed between 1997 and 1999.
