Design-to-action Network Co-chair For Innovation, Science, & Technology at World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024

Bianca Alvarado, MA, currently serves as the Director of the San Diego STEM Pathways Initiative at Digital Promise, focusing on enhancing access to STEM education in San Diego County. Alvarado is also the WDC Design-to-Action Network Lead for Science and Technology for the World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024. With extensive experience, Alvarado has contributed to various roles, including serving as a Community Champion Mentor for the Aspen Challenge and an Associate Director at the Jacobs Institute for Innovation in Education. Previous positions include Online Curriculum Developer and Director of Curriculum Development at La Casa Azul Productions, High School Teacher in the Sweetwater Union High School District, and San Diego Incubator for Innovation in STEM Fellow with the National Science Foundation. Alvarado holds a Master's in Social Innovation from the Kroc School at the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts in International Conflict and Human Resolution from San Diego State University.
