Marianna Nigra

Marianna Nigra currently serves as the Head of the UNHRD Innovation Lab at the World Food Programme since August 2024. Previously, Marianna held the position of Assistant Professor and Subject Coordinator for Economics and Design Organisation at Politecnico di Torino from September 2014 to August 2024, where focus was on developing models for sustainable innovation in the buildings industry. Additionally, Marianna worked as a Researcher at Future Urban Legacy Lab from May 2019 to February 2022, providing consultancy on building sustainability regulation. From July 2008 to February 2022, Marianna operated as an Architect and Project Manager at Studio Nigra, managing both public and private design projects. Marianna also gained experience as a Visiting Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in mid-2018, researching sustainable innovation in the buildings industry. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Management, Production and Design from Politecnico di Torino and a Master of Architecture from Turin Politecnico.
