David Beasley is the current Executive Director of the [World Food Programme](/org/world-food-programme). Prior to this, they served as the Governor of South Carolina from 1995 to 1999. During their time as Governor, David Beasley helped to turn around the state's economy and was successful in attracting new businesses to the state. David also served on the board of directors for Carolina Bank.

David Beasley began their educational career at [Clemson University](/org/clemson-university), where they studied microbiology and general science. David then transferred to the University of South Carolina-Columbia, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies. After graduation, they attended the University of South Carolina-Columbia School of Law, where they earned their Doctor of Law (JD) degree. Finally, they took some summer classes in apologetics at Simon Greenleaf School of Law (now Trinity).
