Shant Apekian

Shant Apekian joined WSPA as the Vice President, California Policy and Strategic Affairs in December 2018. In this role, Shant leads the Association’s advocacy and political efforts in California, advising the President and board of directors on all on legislative, regulatory and political matters in California.

Prior to joining WSPA, Shant served as the Vice President of Public Affairs for the California Apartment Association and helped lead its legislative and political programs. He has also served as legislative staff to various state legislators and worked on numerous political campaigns.

Shant holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Sociology from University of California, Los Angeles and a master’s in public administration from the University of Southern California. Shant lives in Sacramento with his wife Jenny and their two children, Raffi and Ani.
