In 2010, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin decided to form a new division of the company to work on moonshots: far-out, sci-fi sounding technologies that could one day make the world a radically better place. It was a grand experiment — some might say a moonshot unto itself. 10 years in, X has incubated hundreds of different moonshot projects, many of which have gone on to become independent businesses.

Glenn Littlejohns is the Director of Operations and COO of [Tapestry](/org/tapestry) at X. Glenn has also previously served as the F35 Director of Test for the United States Air Force, where they led a team of 700 personnel responsible for the set-up, scaling, and product delivery of UK's F35 aviation test and introduction into service programme. In this role, they also oversaw and led the aviation operations of the Operational Test Team for Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft. Prior to their time with the Air Force, Glenn was an Assistant Professor at the United States Air Force Academy from July 2005 to January 2008. Nabeela has a long history of working in diversity and inclusion programs, starting as an intern at the Law Offices of David N. Weiss in 2008. Nabeela then became an administrative assistant at Health Evolution Partners in 2010 before moving on to [Yelp](/org/yelp) in 2011 as an Elite Account Executive.

In 2014, Nabeela began working as a Diversity Recruiter at [Yelp](/org/yelp). AJ then became the Chief Operating Officer of [Roleshare](/org/roleshare), a startup that matches businesses with freelancers. After that, they worked as a leadership coach with the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute.

In their current role at X, they are responsible for developing and managing products and strategies that support the people who work at X. This includes everything from benefits and compensation to employee development and engagement.

AJ is passionate about helping women succeed in the business world. Through their work with WITI, they have created the MiniWITI program to provide education and mentorship opportunities for young women interested in pursuing careers in science and technology.

Before Google, Matthew was a Senior Mechanical Engineer at [Rethink Robotics](/org/rethink-robotics), where they worked on new product development for Sawyer and Baxter 7DOF Robots. Sarah Hunter is the current Director of Global Public Policy at X. Prior to this, they were the Head of Policy at X, and before that, they were the Head of UK Public Policy at Google. Sarah has also worked as a Senior Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister and as a Specialist Olympics Adviser.

Libby has previously worked as a Communications Manager at Google from September 2012 to September 2016, a Communications Officer at Australian Volunteers International from July 2010 to July 2011, and a Communications Executive at MySpace & IGN Entertainment from August 2007 to June 2010.

Libby Leahy has a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications from the [University of Sydney](/org/university-of-sydney).

Their manager is Astro Teller, Captain. They work with Nick Foster - Head of Design, Nan Boden - COO, Robotics, and Page Crahan - Head of Product and Market Strategy, Early Pipeline.

Dr. Astro Teller is current CEO of X, Alphabet's moonshot factory for building magical, audacious ideas that through science and technology can be brought to reality. Astro is also co-founder and a current Director of Cerebellum Capital, Inc, a hedge fund management firm whose investments are continuously designed, executed, and improved by a software system based on techniques from statistical machine learning. Astro was also the co-founder and CEO of BodyMedia, Inc, a leading wearable body monitoring company that was sold to Jawbone in 2013.

From 2003 to 2010, Astro was a co-founder and Chairman of Zivio Technologies, an intellectual property holding company. Prior to starting BodyMedia, Dr. Teller was co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Sandbox Advanced Development, an advanced development technology company. Before his tenure as a business executive, Dr. Teller taught at [Stanford University](/org/stanford) and was an engineer and researcher for Phoenix Laser Technologies, Stanford's Center for Integrated Systems, and The Carnegie Group Incorporated. Dr. Teller holds a BS in CS from [Stanford University](/org/stanford), an MS in symbolic and heuristic computation, also from Stanford, and a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence from [Carnegie Mellon University](/org/carnegie-mellon-university), where he was a recipient of the prestigious Hertz fellowship.

Astro is also a writer. In 1997 Random House published his first fiction novel, Exegesis, which went on to critical acclaim and publication around the world in many other languages. He has since published a second novel, sold a movie to Paramount, placed many op-ed pieces and journal articles, and his third book, this one a non-fiction work called Sacred Cows about our societies confusions about Marriage and Divorce, will be published in July of this year.
