Tom Erickson

Chair at Xformative

Tom is a board director and advisor to leading early- and growth-stage tech companies: Xformative, Bizagi, Knime, GoodData, and Localytics. Experience in both startup and established software company gives him a unique view into rapidly scaling software companies. He joined Acquia pre-revenue as CEO in 2009, and helped develop the company’s open source commercialization model. Tom was the CEO of Systinet, the leading company in SOA governance, which was acquired by Mercury Interactive, and Chief Products Officer at Tele Atlas, which was sold to TomTom. He has also held executive roles at webMethods, Baan, Watermark, and MRO Software. Tom has led several of his teams to hyper growth. In 2013, Deloitte named Acquia the fastest-growing private company in the U.S. in its Fast 500 tech survey. Systinet’s revenue grew five times in the 18 months Tom was at the helm. Additionally, Tom led webMethods’ international growth from 2000-2004 at a CAGR of 90%, in what was arguably one of the toughest periods for enterprise software ever. As co-chair of a University of Wisconsin – Madison committee, Tom looked at ways to expand computational research and learning across the university, and he continues to drive efforts to strengthen these areas. He has a BS Honors degree in electrical and computer engineering from UW – Madison and spent 14 years of his career living in Australia, England and France.
