Christopher M. O’Connor

CEO at Yale New Haven Health

Christopher M. O’Connor transitioned to CEO in March of 2022. O’Connor most recently served as president of the Health System having been named to that position in August of 2020. As President, Mr. O’Connor was responsible for the operations of the System, including Yale New Haven Hospital as well as the community hospitals, the System physician network (Northeast Medical Group) and Information Technology. Prior to becoming President, Mr. O’Connor was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since joining Yale New Haven Health System in 2012.

Mr. O’Connor previously served as President and CEO of Saint Raphael Healthcare System and the Hospital of Saint Raphael, serving in that position until the successful affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital, September 2012. Prior to this, Mr. O’Connor served as President of Caritas St. Elizabeth Medical Center, the 340-bed flagship of the six-hospital system affiliated with the Archdiocese of Boston and Tufts School of Medicine and served as Vice President of Clinical Operations for Ochsner Health System in New Orleans.

Mr. O’Connor sits on a number of boards, including serving as the vice-chair of the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA). He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Mr. O’Connor received his Masters in Health Services Administration from George Washington University in 1996 and his Bachelor of Arts, Economics from George Washington University in 1993.
