Garret Sims

Garret Sims is an experienced aquatics professional with a strong background in swimming instruction and safety management. Currently serving as a Lifeguard at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago since May 2022, Garret is responsible for ensuring member safety and has taught Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding courses. As an Assistant Swim Coach, Garret coaches and mentors swimmers, designing effective training programs. With involvement in USA Swimming as an Athlete Representative for various committees, Garret participates in governance and risk assessment. Previous roles include a Social Media Intern at Swimming World and the owner of Garret's Swim School, providing personalized swim lessons. Garret holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management from St. Ambrose University, expected in 2024.
