Tiina Kotonen-Pekkanen

Director, Finance Unit at Ministry of the Environment of Finland

Tiina Kotonen-Pekkanen has diverse work experience in various organizations. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Researcher at Lappeenranta University of Technology. In 2007, they became a Project Manager at Kouvola Region Expertise Centre, where they worked until 2009. In the same year, they joined Kouvola Innovation Ltd. as a Project Manager and then moved on to North Karelia University of Applied Sciences, where they held the position of Project Manager from 2009 to 2010. In 2011, Tiina started working as a Programme Coordinator at the Ministry of Finance, a role they held until 2015. In 2016, they became a Senior Specialist in Performance Management and Finances at the Ministry of the Environment of Finland, a position they held until 2021. Tiina then became a Development Manager in the same organization until their current role as Director of the Finance Unit, which they started in 2023.

Tiina Kotonen-Pekkanen completed their M.Sc. (Tech.) degree in Industrial Management from LUT University between 2002 and 2007. Furthermore, they pursued a Specialist Qualification in Management with a focus on Network Management from Helsinki Business College Oy from 2014 to 2015.
