Financial services organization Y-U Financial has promoted Andy Okala to its Sales Manager position. Andy has worked closely with Y-U as the owner of Wealthline Consultants, one of Y-U’s premier agencies, and will continue to help to lead the company’s mission to help clients to use insurance more effectively.
Andy came to Y-U along with his brother, Rowojo, who is also a Wealthline partner, and is also now a Y-U Sales Manager. Andy made the decision to join Y-U when he met with founder and principal C.J. Francis-Eronini, who he knew through a mutual friend, for what was supposed to be a half-hour conversation.
“We were talking for like four and a half hours. We had some real chemistry and the energy was just really good shared interest. I was looking for a way to use some of the products in a different way to help provide more value to my clients. C.J. told me they use insurance to help people get out of debt. I really liked that idea - I wanted to find out more about what seemed a really unique system.”
Andy says his new role operates similar to a brokerage model, where he acts as a marketer for large insurance companies, but with an eye to helping clients protect their assets or get out of debt. This varied role means he spends a lot of time talking to potential clients and building up and training his brokerage team.
Andy was born in Nigeria and came to the U.S. when he was three. He settled in Georgia, where he went on to study biological engineering, with an eye to attending medical school. However, his entrepreneurial side diverted his attention somewhat, when he started a software staffing company while studying. From there, he became interested in sales, which led to his work in insurance and the financial services industry.
