Global Head, Strategic Planning & Commercial Excellence, China Alliance Manager at Zambon

Luigi Boaretto is the Global Head of Strategic Planning & Commercial Excellence and China Alliance Manager at Zambon. Luigi has over 20 years of experience in the chemical industry, holding various positions in production, engineering, and management.

Boaretto began their career as a Project Engineer at Foster Wheeler in 1996. In 1997 they moved to Ciba, where they became Production Manager of a new grass root light stabilizers facility. Despite the technical and organizational complexities, the unit reached the design capacity, the required quality level and the production cost target. A new organization was implemented and technical improvements were introduced thanks to the climate of trust developed in the local team and the good networking with the global headquarter and other production sites.

In 2005 Boaretto joined BASF as STAMP New Business Head, Mining Chemicals. Luigi was responsible for leading a global team with full P&L responsibility. The unit was responsible for the technical and commercial development of a high potential technology for the mining processing business.

Boaretto joined Zambon in 2013 as Global Head of Strategic Planning & Commercial Excellence and China Alliance Manager. In this role, they are responsible for Zambon’s strategic planning and commercial operations, as well as managing Zambon’s alliances with Chinese partners.

Luigi Boaretto studied Economics at Bologna Business School and Ingegneria Chimica at Università degli Studi di Padova. Luigi holds an MBA and a Laurea.

Luigi Boaretto reports to Roberto Tascione, CEO. They are on a team with Paola Castellani - Chief Medical Officer & Head of R&D, Giovanni Magnaghi - CFO, and Thibaud Eckenschwiller - Head of Global Business Operations.
