Jacky Lian

Jacky Lian has extensive work experience in mobile application development and management. Jacky is currently working as an Engineering Manager (Mobile + BFF) at Zip Co, where they lead a team of 14 engineers in developing mobile applications and APIs. Their responsibilities include setting long-term direction and roadmap, managing conflicting priorities, and promoting best engineering practices. Jacky also coordinates mobile development across the entire consumer group and oversees the hiring and development of mobile engineers.

Before joining Zip Co, Jacky worked at Moneytree as an Engineering Manager (Mobile + Backend) and Senior Mobile Engineer from 2018 to 2021. In these roles, they were responsible for managing mobile application development and backend systems. Jacky also contributed to team structural changes, improved team maturity in release process and platform stability.

Prior to that, Jacky worked at GoGet Carshare as a Mobile Developer (iOS/Android) from 2016 to 2018. Their responsibilities included designing, building, and maintaining mobile phone apps, as well as analyzing task briefs and implementing new features. Jacky led a team in developing brand new iOS and Android apps and achieved high scores on the AppStore.

Jacky's work experience also includes roles at BlueCats as a Senior iOS Developer, where they worked on SDK design and maintenance, and at jEyLaBs as a Consultant - Mobile (iOS/Android), where they designed and implemented Android and iOS applications.

Early in their career, Jacky worked at SIM Technology Group Limited as a Mobile Project Lead and at Shanghai Ginwave Technology Corporation as a Mobile Software Engineer.

Jacky Lian completed a Master of Applied Information Technology degree from Monash University, specializing in Distributed and Mobile Systems, Web Application Development, Security, and Software Engineering. This degree was obtained from 2011 to 2014. Additionally, Jacky Lian has earned several certifications, including "PROFESSIONAL SCRUM MASTER ||" from Scrum.org in July 2021. Furthermore, Jacky Lian was recognized as the Student of the Month in August 2014 by Performance Education and achieved Top 15% Student status from the Golden Key International Honour Society in September 2013.
