3D vision system enables DHL’s e-fulfillment robot

3D vision system enables DHL’s e-fulfillment robot, Zivid

DHL Supply Chain has a broad innovation agenda for its warehouses, including the use of augmented reality, AGVs, robotics and everything in between. One labor-intensive task DHL is looking to automate at its warehouse in Beringe, Netherlands is manual picking. To do so, DHL worked with Robomotive, an industrial automation specialist in the Netherlands, to create a state-of-the-art robot cell that performs de-palletizing, picking and order-fulfillment functions with the help of a 3D vision system from Zivid.

New Architecture will Revolutionize ROI for Robotic Systems

New Architecture will Revolutionize ROI for Robotic Systems

Last week, I had the pleasure of hosting a webinar on 3D machine vision and on-arm mounting, which is now available on-demand. To elaborate on that discussion, we will now go deeper and discuss the quantifiable ROI of robot automation and specific sensor mounting approaches. The Consensus is Clear: Let’s Automate! In most cases, there is no need to argue the ROI for automating some tasks in warehouses and factories. The benefits are well understood: Increased productivity Increased quality Free up laborers to add value somewhere else in the business https://blog.zivid.com/best-roi-for-robotic-systems

Zivid wins gold design innovators award for on-arm 3D color camera

Zivid, the 3D machine vision camera company, has been named a Gold Honoree in the 2021 Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards for its industrial Zivid Two on-arm 3D color camera. Judged by a panel of independent experts from system integrator and end-user companies, this annual awards program recognizes the best products in the machine vision and imaging industries. On receiving the award Zivid CEO Thomas Embla Bonnerud said, “The award is recognition of all the hard work we’ve put into producing a second-generation camera that’s specifically designed to support on-arm robot-guided applications. Customers were telling us that they needed a high definition, fast image capture 3D color camera that was much smaller, lighter and more rugged. Zivid Two successfully ticks all the boxes.” https://www.zivid.com/on-arm-3d-vision-robotics
