AIG appoints Karen Ling as Chief Human Resources Officer
Karen L. Ling has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at AIG effective July 29, 2019. Ling was previously Chief Human Resources Officer at Allergan where she developed and oversaw a global HR strategy during a period of transition that included successfully launching new company-wide HR resources and cultural initiatives. She replaces Claudine Naughton who left the company at the end of 2018 after three years of service.
AIG President and Chief Executive Officer Brian Duperreault said: “Karen brings to AIG a combination of deep expertise and proven leadership in advancing a global human resources strategy during times of transformation. Karen is a valuable addition to the AIG ELT as we continue to restore AIG as the leading insurance company in the world."
Before Allergan, Ling was Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Merck’s Global Human Health and Consumer Care businesses worldwide. Prior to Merck, she was Group Vice President, Global Compensation & Benefits at Schering-Plough. Ms. Ling also spent 14 years at Wyeth in various positions of increasing responsibility developing HR strategies for business units and working in Wyeth’s Labor & Employment Department.
