Bob Greenblatt joins WarnerMedia to lead HBO and Direct-to-Consumer
As was rumored last week, Robert Greenblatt has joined WarnerMedia to lead HBO, the linear cable networks TNT, TBS and truTV, and the Direct-to-Consumer business. The change comes as part of a larger reorganization announced by WarnerMedia.
WarnerMedia will organize its teams around entertainment networks, live programming, content production and affiliate and advertising sales. Jeff Zucker will take on an expanded role as Chairman of WarnerMedia News & Sports, Kevin Tsujihara continues as Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros, and Gerhard Zeiler, has been elevated from President, Turner International to WarnerMedia Chief Revenue Officer.
In a statement, WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey said: “Adding Bob Greenblatt to the WarnerMedia family and expanding the leadership scope and responsibilities of Jeff, Kevin and Gerhard – who collectively have more than 80 years of global media experience and success – gives us the right management team to strategically position our leading portfolio of brands, world-class talent and rich library of intellectual property for future growth.”
Robert Greenblatt comes from a role as Chairman for NBC Entertainment where he helped transform NBC into the most watched broadcast network with programming like This Is Us, The Good Place, the Chicago trilogy, The Voice, and a series of live musicals and events.
