Michal Marko has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Michal is currently employed as a Principal Software Engineer at 1010data since September 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Principal Software Engineer at EMC for over 12 years, where they were responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting core technologies for filesystems used in midrange storage systems. Michal utilized performance analysis tools to identify and improve performance bottlenecks, served as a component lead, scrum master, mentor, hackathon representative, and college recruiter. Before joining EMC, Michal worked at SCO as a Software Engineer for 10 years. Michal was part of a team that developed a comprehensive web, mobile, and client-server ecosystem ahead of its time. Michal also worked on various aspects of SCO's Unix kernel and operating system and interacted with customers through short-term overseas assignments. Additionally, Michal gained early experience in their career as a Java Graduate School Co-op at IBM.
Michal Marko began their education in 1992 at the Czech Technical University in Prague, where they studied Computer Science. After completing their studies at Czech Technical University in 1994, they went on to pursue their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina Asheville. Michal attended the University of North Carolina Asheville from 1994 to 1996. Following this, Michal Marko pursued their Masters of Science degree in Computer Science at Clemson University from 1996 to 1998.
