Sumit Handa

Sumit Handa is a Senior Scientist at 10x Genomics since February 2024, previously serving as a Staff Scientist at Singular Genomics from April 2022 to January 2024. Handa has extensive experience in biochemistry, beginning as a Scientist-II at UC San Diego from July 2012 to March 2022, where the focus included the interaction of DGR reverse transcriptase with RNA binding partners using Cryo-Electron Microscopy and the development of pertinent assays. Earlier career roles included Scientist-I, Postdoctoral Research Scholar, Research Assistant, and Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant, with work spanning the enzymatic characterization of various pathways and organisms. Handa holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of South Florida, an MSc in Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and a BSc in Chemistry from St. Stephen's College, Delhi.
