Matthew Smart

Matthew Smart has over 20 years of work experience, starting in 1997 as an Analyst Programmer at Abbey. Matthew then worked as a Senior Web Developer at News International, where they introduced new technologies and worked on registration and subscription modules for websites. From 2006 to 2013, Matthew was a Team Leader, Scrum Master, and Agile Coach at Nokia Siemens Networks, where they implemented Agile and XP development practices. At AlertMe.com, they served as a Team Leader, Scrum Master, and Java Developer. In 2015, they joined Hive | Centrica Hive Limited as a Technical Lead, leading a team in creating the Hive hub and implementing test-driven development. Matthew then co-founded Imont Technologies in 2016, where they served as the Co-Founder and Chief Product Development Officer, focusing on the integration of IoT devices using a Java-based SDK. Currently, Matthew is the Director of Engineering at 10x Banking, where they previously held roles as a Senior Engineering Manager and Software Development Manager.

Matthew Smart earned a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours (2:1) in Computing from the University of the West of England from 1995 to 1999. In addition, they obtained certifications including Oracle Certified Expert Java EE6 Web Component Developer (84%) and Oracle Certified Java Programmer SE6 (90%) from Oracle University, as well as a Certified Scrum Master (100%) from the Scrum Alliance, all in the years 2010 and 2013.
