Marcel Botha

CEO at 10XBeta

Marcel Botha is currently the CEO at 10XBeta, but they have an extensive background in innovation and commercialization of physical products. Marcel was the CEO of Spuni from September 2012 to February 2017, where they oversaw the development of the Spuni latching spoon - the first of many products aimed at relieving stress points between infants and caregivers. Marcel was also the Co-Founder & CTO of Patients Pending Ltd from September 2010 to March 2012. In this role, Marcel developed the original switch mechanism and Intellectual Property for Timesulin - a brand of Patients Pending Ltd that helps people living with diabetes avoid low or high blood sugar symptoms. Marcel has also held positions at Validose, Inc. and Spiro Devices LLC.

Marcel Botha has a degree in Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a SMArchS from the same school. Marcel also holds a RIBA Part 3, which is an advanced diploma in professional practice in architecture, from the Architectural Association. Additionally, they have a degree in design direction from Domus Academy, and finally, they have a B.Arch and a B.BDG.A from Nelson Mandela University, both in the field of architecture.
