Markus Benkert

Markus Benkert is a seasoned professional in the telecommunications and IT sectors with extensive experience in program and project management. Currently serving as a Senior Program Manager at 1&1 Versatel since October 2021, Markus oversees the 1&1 Versatel 5G Program focused on enhancing transport network and data center capabilities. Prior to this role, Markus held the position of Program Director at Wipro, where responsibilities included managing integration processes following a German IT consulting acquisition and supporting major bids in the automotive sector. Markus' previous experience includes a long tenure at COLT Telecom as Vice President, managing a diverse team and overseeing the delivery and operations of voice services across multiple countries. Additional roles include Program & Operations Manager at DSC, Manager Engineering Field Support at Alcatel, Test Manager at E-Plus Mobilfunk, and Software Engineer at Alcatel.
