Project 14 Trees is a grassroots effort for ecological restoration and nature conservation. Our mission is to undo the damage caused to nature by regenerating forests on degraded land, restoring biodiversity, creating sustainable livelihoods, and inspiring people—from local communities to urban stakeholders—to actively participate in building a more harmonious relationship with nature.
We began this journey in 2013 in Vetale village, Khed (Pune), on a barren, rocky piece of land with no soil and no access to water.
Today, the same land hosts a thriving forest with 200+ native trees. This transformation has been achieved over a decade using only rainwater harvesting—without external water sources such as pipelines, tankers, or borewells.
In 2021, we formalised this work as 14 Trees Foundation, with a simple goal: to regrow forests on degraded land, restore biodiversity, create livelihoods, and help people reconnect with nature.
