Melanie Lopes has a diverse work experience history. In 2019, they worked as a Children's Gymnastics Instructor at The Little Gym of Oakville, Ontario for four months. Melanie then moved to Safari Science, where they worked as a Children's Birthday Party Host from August to November of the same year. In 2021, Melanie worked as a Distribution Representative at Ivoclar for four months. Following this, they worked as a Receptionist at Sixth Line Family Dental for two months in 2022. Melanie then took on the role of a Part-Time After School Program Facilitator at BGC Hamilton-Halton starting in November 2022. Currently, they are employed at 16 Bit Inc. as a Research Assistant, where they utilize PACS to search and retrieve medical imaging studies related to patients' fracture risk. Melanie also collects and organizes relevant clinical data and performs statistical analyses on the collected data.

Melanie Lopes completed their education at McMaster University from 2021 to 2025, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Life Sciences. Prior to that, they attended White Oaks Secondary School from 2017 to 2021, obtaining the OSSD and International Baccalaureate. In addition to their academic qualifications, Melanie also holds certifications such as the Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) - B2, obtained in August 2021 from the French Ministry for National Education, and First Aid and CPR-C +AED, obtained in September 2020 from St. John Ambulance Ontario.
