Alex Derkson

Alex Derkson is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in real estate law and corporate philanthropy. Currently serving as General Counsel at 17a since December 2021, Alex previously held positions such as Corporate Counsel for Real Estate at Amazon and Managing Associate at Frost Brown Todd, advising clients on complex real estate investments aimed at revitalizing low-income communities. Prior experience includes serving as Vice President of Global Philanthropy at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where Alex led initiatives addressing gentrification through strategic grant-making. Alex began career development as an Operations Analyst at the NYC Department of Education and worked as a Business Analyst at Relay Graduate School of Education. Education includes a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Davidson College.
