1864 Ventures is a venture capital firm rooted in Alberta, Canada, blending the discipline of private equity with the forward-thinking ethos of classic venture capital. Our mission is to identify and unlock value across a balanced portfolio of mature, revenue-generating businesses and selective seed-stage ventures.

What We Do

Strategic Acquisitions: We specialize in acquiring majority stakes in established, cash-flowing companies, often providing succession solutions for retiring owners. We focus on driving value through operational enhancements, process optimization, and hands-on governance.

Selective Seed Investments: Beyond established enterprises, we selectively back early-stage ventures with clear near-term revenue potential, offering board-level expertise to fuel accelerated growth.

Service-Driven Approach: Our trusted network of Service Partners—spanning finance & accounting, legal, operations, community & government relations, sales & marketing/branding, technology & innovation/AI, and more!—provides hands-on advisory support, reducing risk and enhancing returns for our portfolio.

Commitment to Integrity & Innovation: Inspired by the venture capital principles championed by pioneers like Georges Doriot, we continually refine our investment approach to ensure alignment with market realities, partner needs, and emerging opportunities.

Why 1864 Ventures?

Hybrid Model, Broader Opportunities: We tap into both stable, revenue-generating businesses and dynamic, high-upside startups.

Expert-Driven Collaboration: Every investment has deep industry expertise behind it, thanks to our network of partners and investors.

Aligned Incentives & Shared Success: From investors to service providers to portfolio companies, we believe in structuring deals where all parties share in the upside.

Enduring Impact: We aim for sustainable growth, strong returns, and a lasting positive influence on the entrepreneurs and sectors we support.
