Peter Barsoom has worked in a variety of roles in the financial services industry since 1997. From 1997 to 2000, they were an Engagement Manager at MMG and Mitchell Madison Group, and a Vice President at American Express. From 2000 to 2003, they were a Director of Consumer Banking at Merrill Lynch. From 2006 to 2008, they were an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley. From 2008 to 2010, they were a Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Blue Mountain Capital Management. From 2010 to 2015, they were President of ICE Swap Trade and Chief Operating Officer at IntercontinentalExchange, Inc. Most recently, they have been the Founder and CEO of 1906 New Highs, a company that seeks to disrupt an underdeveloped market with a premium product not yet seen, by marrying the healing powers of quality cacao and plant medicine.
Peter Barsoom has a varied educational background. Peter attended East Brunswick High School from 1984 to 1988, where they did not receive a degree. Peter then attended Colgate University from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a BA in International Relations. After graduating from Colgate, they attended Princeton University from 1992 to 1997 as a PhD Candidate in Politics.
