Katya Laviolette is a business-oriented people leader with over 25 years of experience in talent management and acquisition, culture change, global rewards, organizational effectiveness, real estate operations, health and safety, and M&A. Before joining 1Password, she held senior positions at SSENSE, TC Transcontinental, CBC/Radio-Canada, Rio Tinto, Bombardier Aerospace, and CN. Katya is also a board director with Gecko Alliance (Desjardins Capital) and FX Innovation (CDPQ).
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from Queen’s University in Ontario. She has received several awards, including the E.S. Sunley Scholarship in Industrial Relations, the Queen’s Graduate Fellowship, the Cameron-Wood Prize in Industrial Relations, and the Queen’s University/IRC Press Prize. In 2000, she co-chaired the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference, as one of the youngest co-chairs. Katya is a member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (ORHRI) as well as a certified coach with Integral Coaching Canada.
Katya is actively involved in her community, having served many years on the board of Pour 3 Points (P3P), as well as mentoring women leaders within the Governance au Féminin organization.
