Fabio Mariotti has been involved in the tech industry since 2002. Fabio began their career as a System Engineer Linux and System and Web Administrator at the University of Fribourg. In 2003, they joined the Max Planck Institute Muelheim an der Ruhr as a PostDoc in the Group of Prof. W. Thiel, where they worked on Computational Quantum Chemistry for applications at spectroscopic accuracy. In 2004, they took on a PostDoc position at ETH Zurich in the Group of Prof. M. Quack, where they developed models for Computational Quantum Chemistry and acted as a Teaching Assistant for physical chemistry courses. In 2010, they moved to Fernfachhochschule Schweiz as a Forschungsfeldleiter (Research and Development Project Leader) in the Laboratory for Web Science, where they focused on three research areas: complex networks, recommender systems and semantic web. In 2013, they became the CTO of Cloudfeet AG, and in 2017 they joined 1plusX as a Senior Customer Success Engineer and Customer Integration Engineer.

Fabio Mariotti has an extensive educational background. Fabio started their studies in 1988 at the Università degli Studi di Firenze where they obtained both a Master and a Laurea in Chemistry. In 1998, they went on to pursue a PhD in Computational Chemistry at Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg, which they completed in 2002. From 2003 to 2010, they were a post-doc in Physical Chemistry at ETH Zürich. Additionally, they have a SAP Record of Achievement in High Availability and Disaster Recovery with the SAP HANA Platform from openSAP.
